Detailed Description

Her fiery temperament makes her elusive and... wildly attractive.
Just like Nahéma, the princess in Thousand and One Nights, and Catherine Deneuve in the movie The Diary of an Innocent Boy (Michel Deville, 1968).

So moved was Jean-Paul Guerlain by the actress’s performance that he created a perfume for her.
Seductive and enigmatic, this ambery elixir that’s both floral and fruity proved untameable to the perfumer for a long time. So much so that it took four years and over 500 trials for him to pick this velvety rose absolute brimming with peach accord and wrapped in patchouli and sandalwood.

An intoxicating symbol of a love that burns so fiercely that its flame can consume anyone who comes close.

A LEGEND OF BURNING LOVE, ABLAZE WITH ROSE AND PEACH

First comes a rose scent selected from the best families in the rose species.
Then at Nahéma’s heart lies the fresh, green scent of hyacinth accord followed by fruit, including peach accord and passion fruit, which have been a symbol for temptation since the tale of Adam and Eve was first told.
At the base of the composition sits sandalwood and patchouli. Inspired by an intoxicatingly charming ambery rose fragrance, Nahéma is a truly enigmatic elixir.

Rose.
Harvested in Bulgaria and too delicate to travel, roses are made into an essential oil on site using steam and/or direct fire distillation.
The resulting rose oil brings a floral and fruity note to fragrances.

Peach Accord.
Guerlain's peach accord is an original creation made by Guerlain perfumers.
This accord expresses the fruity olfactory fragrance of a velvety peach.

Patchouli.
Patchouli essence features many vegetal, woody and earthy olfactory facets.
Combined with rose, moss and bergamot, patchouli forms the base of the chypre accord.

A LEGENDARY BOTTLE

Designed by Raymond Guerlain in 1912, its iconic “inverted heart” bottle is underscored with graceful scrolls typical of Art Nouveau.
Its avant-garde stopper, in the form of a hollowed heart, evokes the delicate romanticism of this perfumery masterpiece and represented a real technical feat at the time.

HOUSE SECRETS

The name Nahema comes from One Thousand and One Nights and the story of twins Mahané and Nahema, who while identically beautiful had very different personalities.
The first was gentle, docile and conciliatory while Nahema had a daring, indomitably fiery character.

LES LÉGENDAIRES COLLECTION

Heir to Guerlain’s exceptional heritage, Les Légendaires collection pays tribute to legendary creations composed by five generations of perfumers since 1828.

With their emblematic, gem-like bottles, the famous inverted heart designed by Raymond Guerlain, Les Légendaires transcends the passing of time, serving as immortal inspiration for the future.
